A Monday autopsy helped officials allege a 76-year-old woman was fatally shot during a domestic-related incident Sunday afternoon in southwest suburban Oak Lawn, police said.
Officers conducted a well-being check in the 9400 block of South 53rd Court at 1:10 p.m. and found Maryann Buss-Kincaid, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Buss-Kincaid was declared dead at the scene at 1:26 p.m., police said.
An autopsy determined Buss-Kincaid died of multiple gunshot wounds to the head and her death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner’s office.
A person of interest had been identified in the “domestic-related” incident but wasn’t in custody, police said.
