New York Yankees Announce Roster Decision With Former MLB All-Star

On Saturday, the New York Yankees lost to the Detroit Tigers by a score of 3-1 in their most recent spring training game.

The Yankees will have three more exhibition games before their Opening Day battle with the San Francisco Giants on March 25.

On Saturday, the Yankees announced a series of roster moves.

One of those decisions involved former MLB All-Star Paul DeJong.

The Yankees wrote: “Prior to today’s game, the Yankees made the following roster moves: • Reassigned INF Paul DeJong and INF/OF Seth Brown to minor league camp. • Optioned INF/OF Oswaldo Cabrera and INF Max Schuemann to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.”

DeJong is coming off a season where he appeared in 57 games for the Washington Nationals.

He batted .228 with six home runs, 23 RBI’s and 18 runs.
