Things are a bit complicated for Duke star Cameron Boozer’s girlfriend Yva Lauren Cao during March Madness. As Boozer is hoping to lead Duke on a deep run in the NCAA Tournament, Cao is a cheerleader at another ACC foe.
While Cao is a Miami cheerleader, Boozer’s girlfriend has made her feelings clear with plenty of Duke related social media posts. Hours before Duke battled TCU in March Madness, Cao posted a photo of a shirt with the No. 12, a nod to Boozer’s jersey, to her Instagram Stories.
Back in November, Cao posted a series of photos from her visit to Duke.
“Be back soon🖤,” Cao noted in a November 23, 2025, Instagram post.

Boozer is projected to be one of the top picks in the 2026 NBA draft, but Cao has also been recognized as a top cheerleader. Cao earned first team All-Dade honors from the Miami Herald recognizing her as one of the top cheerleaders in the area, per The Mirror.
It appears the couple’s relationship goes back to high school with social media posts referencing their prom together. March Madness proved to have a scary start for the couple as Duke trailed 16-seeded Siena by 11 points at halftime. Ultimately, Boozer and the Blue Devils were able to mount a comeback.
“We came out here with the mentality that it was going to be handed to us, and obviously that’s not what happened,” Boozer told ABC 11’s Travon Miles following the team’s opening round win on March 19. “We got punched in the mouth.”
