The General Election is here and celebs have been heading out to vote across the UK, including Queen legend Sir Brian May.
However, one simple error in the polling station could have landed the Bohemian Rhapsody icon in trouble with the law.
Sir Brian, 76, filmed himself voting this morning in Windlesham, Surrey, which he shared with his 3,300,000 Instagram followers in a bid to encourage others to head to the polls.
‘POLLING DAY !!! And the rare chance to help change Britain for the better. Vote with your heart, folks. Happy Independence Day!’ he wrote in the caption.
Unfortunately for Sir Brian, the Electoral Commission forbids anyone taking pictures or video inside the polling station.
This is to protect the secrecy of the ballot, with fines of up to £5,000 or six months in jail should you get caught.

Fans were quick to alert the rocker to his mistake, with user d754771 writing: ‘Illegal to record in there.’
‘Isn’t filming and photography illegal inside a polling station? ????’ asked Tom Hughes tentatively.
Ian Deslow added: ‘Careful folks of filming inside a polling station, getting caught filming someone else could be illegal- although this seems ok, but anyone else that might accidentally catch someone else’s ballot might be in trouble!’
Sir Brian hasn’t responded to the warnings from his fans but had also shared a video of the sign for the station before his voting video.
‘Happy Independence Day folks!!!’ he captioned the other post. ‘Special salutations to all our American friends, celebrating the birth of your nation.

‘This year, over here in the UK, we are having a kind of Independence Day too. The mood of the country seems to be that this is a long-awaited chance to express their disgust at the ineptitude, arrogance and corruption that we have been forced to witness over the last decade.
‘The Tory tabloids have looked more and more desperate, trying to find ways to scare people away from voting for change. But for us, the sweet scent of liberation is in the air.
‘A New Hope of decency. By the early hours of tomorrow morning, we will know for sure one way or the other.’
Polling stations are open until 10pm this evening and voters need to bring ID in order to cast their ballot.
