What is a King Ranch? The King Ranch is a full size F150 pickup truck built in the Dearborn, Michigan assembly plant and sold in North America by the Ford Motor Company. The King Ranch package includes Del Rio leather on the seats, door trim, armrests, steering wheel, and the center console, as well as a unique chrome grille, with a set of polished 22″ wheels with King Ranch center caps.
Ford builds the 2024 F150 pickup truck in 7 trim levels. Starting with the F-150 XL, as the lowest of the Ford pickup truck trims, the F-150 XL has all the basics you need in a work truck for only $36,965. Then you step up to the F-150 XLT, F-150 Lariat, F-150 King Ranch, F-150 Platinum, F-150 Limited, and then to the top of the line, the Ford F-150 Raptor. The King Ranch edition is right at the sweet spot of the 7 trims, with enough leather, comfort options and 4×4 hybrid power to get you to just about anywhere.
To prove that point, this week Ford sent me a 2024 F-150 Supercrew Hybrid 4×4 pickup truck to test drive and review. The base window sticker price for this F150 King Ranch edition is $73,425. The options on the test truck are: the metallic paint for $495, the 22″ premium painted alloy wheels with chrome inserts for $1,125, the reclining driver and passenger seats for $340, the wheel well liners for $180 and the Toughbed spray-in bedliner for $595. The manufactures suggested retail price (MSRP) , including the $1,995 destination and delivery fee, is: $78,155.
After adding in the state and local sales tax, plus the DMV and dealers fees, the out the door and in your driveway total purchase price came to: $87,924. At just under $88 Grand, this F150 King Ranch edition checks off all the boxes for a luxury pickup truck and then some. With a supercrew cab, hybrid power and a 4×4 driveline, this truck feels just at home on the freeway, off road on a mountain trail, at the local Home Depot picking up weekend warrior stuff, or in the best valet parking spot at the Country Club.
Power comes from a twin turbocharged 3.5 liter V/6 gas engine with a 1.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a 41 horsepower electric motor. This hybrid setup makes 430 HP and 570 lb-ft of torque, and is bolted to a 10 speed electronic automatic transmission, routed into a 4×4 four wheel drive traction control system, with a 3:73 electronic locking rear axle assembly.
The King Ranch F-150 comes with leather covered front bucket 10 way power seats, a 12″ center stack display screen, 2nd row heated seats, adaptive cruise control, ambient lighting, real wood interior trim, head-up display, a leather wrapped steering wheel, leather heated and ventilated seats, King Ranch logo floor mats, a power tilt and telescopic steering wheel and a rear under seat lockable and fold flat storage area.
