Passenger on CTA bus robbed in Englewood

A 54-year-old passenger on a CTA bus was robbed by three men Saturday night in the Englewood neighborhood, according to Chicago police.

The man was on the bus around 11:20 p.m. in the 5700 block of South Ashland Avenue when three men approached him, demanded his things and attempted to take them by force, police said. To defend himself, the man pulled out a “sharp object,” and the three men then started beating the victim, according to police.

The three then got off the bus and were later arrested, according to police. The victim, suffering from a cut to his hand, was taken in stable condition to St. Bernard Hospital. Two of the robbers suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

Charges against the three are pending.
