REPORT: Pakistan T20 Cricket Team Fined For Disappointing World Cup

The hits keep coming for Pakistan cricketers. A new report has revealed that Pakistan’s T20 Cricket team has been fined following their 2026 T20 World Cup performance.

For most governing bodies of national sports teams, the disappointment from not winning is enough punishment. However, the board overseeing Pakistan’s international cricket participation believes that further action is warranted.

PCB Fines T20 Cricket World Cup Team

Several outlets are reporting on this new information.

Outlook India reports that this decision was made by the Pakistan Cricket Board. Additionally, the decision was made prior to their final Super 8 match.

“The decision, made under chairman Mohsin Naqvi, came immediately after Pakistan’s embarrassing loss to India in the group stage,” Outlook India reports. “According to the Express Tribune, frustration over repeated failures in ICC events appears to have driven the board to act. Sources said PCB officials told the team that while strong performances earn rewards, poor ones will now carry consequences.”

“Enough pampering has been done.”

How Much Was the Pakistan T20 Cricket Team Fined?

The report from Outlook India revealed that each cricketer on the team was fined PKR 50 lakh for their performance. The outlet also reveals that this is a first in international cricket.

Here is PKR 50 lakh converted into other currencies around the world:

  • 1,600,000 Indian Rupee
  • $24,595 Canadian Dollars
  • $17,869 United States Dollar
  • 25,155 Australian Dollar
  • 29, 844 New Zealand Dollar
