Broncos ILB Alex Singleton out for season after tearing ACL at Tampa Bay

Alex Singleton’s season is done after three weeks.

Head coach Sean Payton announced Wednesday that the starting inside linebacker will miss the rest of the season due to a torn ACL.

Singleton injured his knee in the first quarter when safety Brandon Jones recorded an interception but managed to play the rest of the way.  There was reported soreness after the game but the team was caught by surprise when testing revealed a tear.

Since arriving in Denver, Singleton has been a tackling machine. He has totaled 371 total tackles in 37 games (31 starts). Through three games of the 2024 campaign, Singleton led the team with 31 tackles and an interception in the season-opener against the Seattle Seahawks.

The news on Singleton comes after sources told The Denver Post that the Broncos have signed veteran Kwon Alexander — who will join an inside linebacker rotation that consists of starter Cody Barton, Justin Strnad and Kristian Welch. Undrafted rookie Levelle Bailey is on the team’s practice squad.
