As December creeps ever closer, many of us will start thinking about festive food, and the first port of call for some will be an advent calendar.

We love having a little treat to look forward to each day in the run up to December 25, and for most people this will be a chocolate or sweet of some kind.

But if you’d prefer to find savoury snacks in yours, Walkers has got you covered as the crisp giant is selling an advent calendar for Christmas 2024, containing packets of their most popular flavours.

Inside you’ll find everything from Ready Salted to Prawn Cocktail, and Cheese & Onion, and it seems there are 24 packs.

While some crisp fans claimed this product was their ‘dream’ and they ‘needed’ to buy it as it was ‘the perfect advent calendar’, others were flabbergasted by the price and thought it was ‘stupid’.

Several food bloggers, including @newfoodsuk and @uknewestfoods shared a look at the advent calendar in Iceland, where it’s available for £10.

In the comments people were quick to brand this ‘robbery’ and said it ‘made no sense at all’, as this was so much more expensive than buying a multi-pack of crisps.

@miss_kelly_louise_xx replied: ‘This makes absolutely no sense at all you can buy a multi-pack of 20 for £3.50 from Asda, add 4 more packets and you can make your own advent calendar for less.’

Similarly, @supportingmythreelions wrote: ‘How much does it cost?!’ While @clairekaty_ thought it was ‘just wrong’.

Over on TikTok people were also taken aback by the price, with Katie Sherred saying: ‘Cheaper to buy the 24 crisps in multipacks! You’re paying for the box!’

But @christmascountdownuk wasn’t bothered by the cost, proclaiming: ‘My prayers have finally been answered with this crisps advent calendar!!!’

If you thought £10 was a lot to spend on an advent calendar, you might not want to know how much a Lindt one is being sold for.
