Several European countries and holiday islands hit by massive power outage

Power outages have been reported across Europe, including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Montenegro.

In Albania, blackouts have been reported in Tirana, Durrësi, Lezha, Shkodra, Kukësi, Saranda and Elbasani.

The lights in the country’s constitutional court have also gone off, according to BalkanWeb.

Power company OSHEE announced last night the power could be switched off in Tirana, the Albanian capital.

Power outages are occurring across Banja Luka, Prnjavor, Kotor Varoš, Sarajevo, Derventa, Palam, Trebinje, Gack and Nevesinje in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosnian TV channel BN reported.

Southern Croatia suffered a massive power outage at around 12.30pm local time, with the entirety of Dubrovnik and Konavle blacked out.

The country’s national power grid, NEP, has not issued a public statement.

Montenegro’s energy network has also confirmed power outages in the country.

It said there was an outage on the network of the Montenegrin Electric Transmission System (CGES).
