Rush hour delays after large chunk of London rail line suspended

Commuters have been hit by disruption in London this morning after a signal fault.

Passengers using the route between Highbury and Islington to New Cross Gate and West Croydon have been hit by delays this morning.

Both London Overground and National Rail services are affected after a fault with the signalling system at West Croydon which is expected to wreak havoc for hours.

Passengers were told to prepare for cancellations or delays of up to 20 minutes.

Some services may be revised to terminate at New Cross Gate or diverted to Crystal Palace, National Rail warned.

The disruption is expected to last until 10am.

London Overground

There is no service between West Croydon and Sydenham, Transport for London said.

Overground tickets are being accepted on the Underground.

National Rail
