Sitcom fans have been binge-watching the latest season of a comedy that is the ‘best series since Only Fools and Horses bar none’.
They have urged viewers to ‘please find a way’ to watch Funny Woman season 2, which stars former Bond Girl Gemma Arterton, 38.
The Sky show follows Blackpool beauty queen Barbara Parker (Arterton) as she ditched her old life and name to become TV comedy star Sophie Straw.
Set in the male-dominated world of the 60s, season 2 follows Sophie as she navigates a sitcom flop, a doomed romance and a devastating family secret.
Since Funny Woman landed on Sky and Now on Friday, viewers have been lapping up the episodes.
Among them is @darrenpbeale, who exclaimed: ‘Funny Woman is quite simply the best series since Fools and Horses bar none absolutely brilliant writing and acting along with a story that takes on a brilliant journey. Absolute joy.’

Gemma previously told Metro.co.uk that Sophis is more like her than her previous characters, who typically tend to be ‘very controlled.’
She explained: ‘I always get quite assertive, very controlled characters, which is so not me at all. It’s weird. I wonder if it’s a perception thing… The real me is much more like Sophie – a “dippy doodle”, as she calls herself.‘

Gemma’s breakout role was the head girl in St Trinians before being cast as a Bond Girl in Quantum of Solace in 2008 alongside Daniel Craig as 007.
She admitted to Metro.co.uk she was ‘naive’ when she was cast in the blockbuster franchise.
‘I loved making Quantum Of Solace – and I’m still friends with people on it,’ Gemma said.
