Pensioner, 87, arrested for ‘trying to suffocate wife with pillow’

A British man has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to murder his wife in Greece.

The 87-year-old man is accused of trying to suffocating his wife, 89, with a pillow yesterday in Paleo Faliro, a seaside neighbourhood 6km from Athens city centre.

The woman was taken to the Janeio hospital for treatment.
