BAFTA-nominated comedy show Breeders, starring Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard, has dropped on Netflix.
The ‘darkly hilarious’ Sky series, which aired four seasons between 2020 and 2023, follows parents Paul (Martin) and Ally (Daisy) who face ‘unexpected challenges’ as they navigate the trials and tribulations of parenthood with two young kids and full-time careers.
The fourth and final season came out in 2023.
Set over the course of several years, the Worsley family face all manner of chaotic shenanigans that make them question their parenting skills and regret all their life decisions.
As well as remind them just how much they ultimately love their children, no matter the cost.
The show, which also features Alun Armstrong as Paul’s father-in-law Jim, has been praised by fans and critics alike, scoring a sweet 92% on Rotten Tomatoes.

On social media one user @MrCamW wrote: ‘Another brutal but darkly hilarious view on parenting and long-term relationships. Too real? For sure, but so damn necessary. Martin Freeman and Daisy Haggard are incredible.’
X user @simongreening added: ‘A brilliant comedy that not enough people know about. Has there been a better TV depiction of real-life marriage? Sweary, touching, and incredibly funny!’

Speaking about bringing the show to as close after 40 episodes, co-creator Martin said: ‘My worst fear, genuinely, of anything that I’ve ever done is outstaying my welcome or a show or an idea outstaying its welcome.
‘We’re very happy to bow out at this time. It’s been 40 episodes, which is a load more episodes of anything I’ve ever done in my life.’

Elsewhere, in an interview with Radio Times, the Sherlock star explained he wanted Breeders to be ‘a funny show but that it would also act as something of a comfort for people as well.’
He added: ‘The vast majority of people have bawled at their kids.
‘I think people who haven’t bawled at their kids aren’t with their kids very often. I don’t mean every day, but show me a person who’s not been screamed at by their parents and I’ll show you a unicorn.’
Since finishing Breeders, Martin has appeared in the second season of The Responder in which he plays policeman Chris Carson, a big departure from his Breeders character.
Meanwhile, Daisy is also best known for her role in the British drama series Back To Life about ex-convict Miri Matteson who must adjust to normal life after 18 years in prison.
The first three seasons of Breeders are now available to watch on Netflix.
