A man dubbed the ‘modern-day Hugh Hefner’ has ditched his seven girlfriends to go celibate.

LX Xander previously revealed that he was on the hunt for his seventh girlfriend – one for each day of the week – but has since decided to go cold turkey and quit sex completely.

Opening up about feeling ‘trapped, guilty and confused’ in monogamous relationships, 34-year-old LX says he had become ‘desensitised to sex’ as he’d had so many ‘wild and exotic’ experiences.

‘I need to ‘reset’ the dopamine receptors in my brain that are associated with it,’ LX, a music producer from Yorkshire, told NeedToKnow.

‘I wasn’t enjoying it as much as I used to – in fact, sometimes I would be more anxious about the idea of [sex] than I was excited by it.’

LX even got to the point of ‘struggling to finish during threesomes,’ and so to be able to appreciate those experiences again, he knew he ‘had to take a break.’

However, his decision has caused some heartache among his girlfriends, some of whom have expressed ‘frustration.’

‘Honestly, some [of them] have initially claimed to be supportive, but then not really respected my boundaries and been a bit pushy,’ LX, who now lives in Los Angeles, shares, noting that he’s now learning who he has to keep ‘at a distance.’

‘It’s different with different people. Generally, I think that the girls understand it’s not necessarily going to be something that lasts forever,’ he adds.

‘I still hang out and cuddle with some of them, but with others, I know it’s just going to be uncomfortable because they’re going to be getting horny. I really want to see this through to the other side.’

He’s now one month into his celibacy journey and hopes to continue for as long as it’s needed. Since quitting, his brain is ‘way quieter’ – and he’s learning a lot.

‘I’ve actually realised that I’m not really that horny of a guy. I don’t have this overpowering urge to just f**k,’ he said, adding that he thinks people really just want ‘validation, intimacy and to feel desired.’

If his girlfriends had ended things with him or if anyone ‘fell off’ over this, he understands that the connection they shared was ‘purely sexual.’

‘I wanted to see what my life looked like and felt like without sex in it. I want to get back to being able to feel that magic and innocence that I used …read more
