Less than a year on from Neighbours’ spectacular comeback on Amazon Freevee, legendary actor Ryan Moloney has announced his departure after 30 years of playing Toadie Rebecchi – and he’s seen a fair share of drama during that time!

Jarrod ‘Toadfish’ Rebecchi is the unlucky-in-love resident of Ramsay Street with a heart of gold, who first arrived in the iconic Australian soap as a troublesome teen back in 1995.

On his upcoming exit, Ryan said: ‘After 30 years playing Toadie, I will be leaving Ramsay Street.  I can’t tell you what is happening to the character – maybe I could be the next Jim Robinson. Or maybe I’ll be the next Harold Bishop and keep popping back over the years.’

He continued: ‘Although I won’t be bringing you our fantastic storylines from in front of the camera, I will be bringing them to you from the other side, behind the camera

‘I’ve just started director training and have just finished filming my first episode as director – so I really hope that you enjoy that.’

Throughout the years we’ve seen poor Toadie stumble from one relationship to another – and they almost always end in heartache.

He’s also walked down the aisle once or twice, including back in September during the revival’s ‘first’ episode.

But how many times has Toadie tied the knot over the years? Here’s what you need to know.

The first wedding – Dee Bliss

Unlucky in love, Toadie has been married five times in the show’s 39 year history.

He first tied the knot in 2003 to Dee Bliss (Madeleine West), who he accidentally drove off a cliff on their wedding day. Presumed dead for best part of the fifteen years that followed, Dee then turned up on his doorstep and announced she was alive – with their teenage daughter in tow.

However, a bigger twist would soon follow when it was revealed ‘Dee’ was actually her estranged identical twin sister Andrea who was plotting to scam him out of thousands.

Despite discovering Andrea’s true identity, he went onto conceive son Hugo with her, and when she returned – baby in tow – her wicked mother Heather (Kerry Armstrong) plotted to kill third wife Sonya (Eve Morey).

Months later, the real Dee showed up on the doorstep of No. 30 and announced she actually was alive. After a tense showdown on a cliff top (déjà vu anyone?), Andrea was sent to prison.

The second and third weddings – Steph Scully and Sonya Mitchell

During Dee’s 16 year absence, he fell in love with his dog trainer Sonya, who was later revealed to be his adoptive son Callum’s (Morgan Baker) birth mum.
