There are worrying scenes ahead for Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) in Emmerdale next week, as his health causes reason for concern.

As fans of the ITV soap know, the long-standing local was diagnosed with Parkinson’s last year and has been adjusting to living with the disease.

However, his symptoms begin to worsen next week due to not having his medication.

In this spoiler video from Wednesday’s episode, Pollard is embarrassed when Caleb Milligan (William Ash) spots him wandering into the village, clearly out of sorts.

Aware he’s in need of help, Caleb offers him a lift.

Feeling utterly beaten, Pollard is forced to put aside an argument they have earlier in the week, when he complains about the increase in traffic in the area due to Caleb’s warehouse.

The confrontation escalates when an angered Eric commandeers one of Caleb’s lorries, but his hand tremors cause him to crash into some crates.

Caleb then issues Pollard a stern warning against interfering with his business.

However, as our video spoiler reveals, Caleb is later there for Pollard in his time of need, forcing him to swallow his pride and accept a lift to go and see Dr Liam Cavanagh (Johnny McPhearson).

‘I’ll drive this time though,’ Caleb jokes, referencing the previous incident, before Pollard asks him not to mention this to anyone else.

There’s genuine concern from Caleb, and things later thaw between the two men – is this the start of a surprising new friendship?

Emmerdale airs these scenes on Wednesday 13 November at 7.30pm on ITV1 and from 7am on ITVX.
