The Great British Sewing Bee viewers have slammed the show after many contestants failed to finish a challenge this week.
First launching in 2013, the reality show follows talented amateur sewers compete to be named ‘Britain’s best home sewer’.
It is presented by Kiell Smith-Bynoe and judged by Patrick Grant and Esme Young.
This week they were joined by special guest judge Priya Khanchandani, a curator and writer specialising in Southeast Asian culture who is also the head of curatorial and interpretation at the Design Museum, London.
Like each episode, they were again tasked with three challenges, with the first seeing the sewers creating a Nehru jacket, a hip-length tailored coat for men or women.
They were given just four hours to make the garment, compete with welt pockets, a closed collar, and a quintet of buttons.

However, the time didn’t seem to be enough for many, with some of the contestants heard exclaiming ‘oh no’ and ‘this is so overwhelming’ before even starting.
As they got into the task, Suzy said the ‘4000 instructions’ made it clear they wouldn’t have an easy time ahead.
When it came down to the final few minutes, many sewers were struggling, with Suzy worried she was about to present ‘the worst’ hem she’d ever made.

After being told they had five minutes left on the clock, many conceded they wouldn’t finish in time.
Looking at the final products, Patrick said it was obvious some of them had ‘struggled’ with the assignment.
The feedback from the judges was quite mixed, however those watching on at home rushed to defend the sewers, saying they weren’t given enough time.

‘I’m so over the contestants not having enough time, it’s frustrating, I’d love to see properly finished garments,’ Jane posted on X.
‘Really disappointed in this season’s Sewing Bee. Not enough time given for ever more complex projects. The result is rushed and often not that well assembled even the better ones. The clue is in the word “sewing”. Let’s see more time given and better finished, well sewn garments,’ user katathenty shared.
‘I’m sorry but if nearly no one finishes the garment, then you’ve not given them enough time,’ Sharon added.
Meanwhile Louise said the same thing happened ‘every single week’.

There are now six sewers left in this season of the competition, with those remaining being Ailsa, Alex, Georgie, Luke, Marcus and Pasha.
