Could Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen finally return? (Picture: Rex/HBO)
Finally, five years after the divisive season 8 finale, the news Game of Thrones fans have been waiting for has arrived – a movie is in the works.
The series’ eight-year run from 2011 until 2019 marked a pivotal moment in TV history, propelling actors including Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke to global fame.
While it has been revereed as one of the greatest shows of all time, many were left sorely disappointed by the season eight finale, which saw Jon Snow (Kit) kill Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia) before she could claim the Iron Throne.
However, now that a film is reportedly being developed, plenty of people have one big request about what the feature-length release could involve.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros has been working on a film based on the world of Westeros created by author George RR Martin, who wrote the A Song of Ice and FIre books on which the franchise is based.
The publication states the movie is in the very early stages of development, as claimed by several sources.

A writer apparently hasn’t been hired yet for the film, nor any members of the cast.
Despite the extremely early stages that the film is apparently in, fans already have one major request about waht they want to see from it.
Reacting to the news on social media, Instagram user @marcusnsmith commented: ‘Do the last season again but in a 3 hour movie.’
@hadi.najafi added: ‘It will only succeed if the original cast and crew return. like Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington, Maisie Williams and filmmakers Miguel Sapochnik, Neil Marshall, David Nutter and etc…’
Another fan called @emrahdoganay wrote: ‘I wish they would reshoot the last season according to the book,’ while @con_rad3 remarked: ‘Only if we get the OG cast.’
