Frasier fans have been left baffled over a huge error (Picture: NBC)
Frasier fans have found a huge error in the sitcom, questioning whether the titular character accidentally forgot about the birth of his son.
The acclaimed series served as a spin-off of Cheers, and followed stuffy psychiatrist Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) as he returned to his home town of Seattle, reuniting with his equally snobby brother, Niles (David Hyde Pierce) and their dad, Martin (John Mahoney).
It ran for 11 seasons between 1993 and 2004, with reruns currently airing on weekdays in the UK – a revival premiered on Paramount + last year.
However, during a rewatch, one eagle-eyed viewer noticed that the radio personality may have forgotten about son Frederick ‘Freddy’ Crane while helping a cab driver deliver their child.
In season two episode Flour Child, which first aired in 1994, Frasier, Niles and Martin were traveling in a taxi when the driver went into labor in the front seat, with the trio springing into action.
Attempting to soothe the mom-to-be, in the most Frasier way possible, he told her: ‘Now, I don’t want you feeling guilty for having your baby in a cab. No, there’s nothing to be ashamed of.

‘I’m sure many great Americans have been born this way. Cab Calloway comes to mind.
‘My particular area of medicine is psychiatry, and I like to specialize in the head, you know, not the lower portion of the body – it’s much less messy that way. Not that your lower half is messy at all, it’s quite beautiful… Not that I’m looking!’
During the exchange, he failed to mention that his ex-wife, Lillith Sternin (Bebe Neuwirth) delivered their own son in the back of a cab, in a very similar scenario.
Flocking to a Frasier fan group on Facebook, Carolyn J Mills recalled the instalment, penning: ‘In the episode where Frasier, Niles and Martin are in the cab and the taxi driver goes into labor and they take tiens helping her deliver the baby Frasier says “a lot of great babies (or kids or men I foegot the word here) were born in cabs – Cab Calloway comes to mind.

‘He forgot his own son was also born in a cab. On Cheers, Lilith says she found out it was false labor looked for Frasier couldn’t find him and took a taxi went into labor and gave birth in the back of his cab [sic].’
Other fans rushed to the comments to share their confusion at the error, as Kevin OConnor said: ‘How silly of us to forget! Oh, his first gas!’
Feroz Khan agreed: ‘Well spotted.’
Kim Bradley suggested: ‘It always seemed such a missed opportunity that he didn’t mention it. It would’ve been a …read more
