Emmerdale star cast as lead role in major Netflix production

Former Emmerdale star Louis Healy, best known for playing Danny Harrington, has announced his new leading stage role.

The youngest child of Denise Welch and ex husband Tim Healy, already has an impressive number of acting credits to his name, and will now be leading the new cast of Stranger Things: The First Shadow – the hit stage show based on the Netflix smash starring Millie Bobby Brown and Finn Wolfhard.

Since its London launch last year, Stranger Things has had rave reviews from the critics and was nominated for five accolades at this year’s Olivier Awards, the biggest night in British theatre.

Louis is joining the cast as Henry Creel and, a very proud mum Denise was quick to share her delight on Instagram, after his casting was officially announced, and former Loose Women co-star Andrea McLean replied: ‘Oh that’s wonderful!! Huge congratulations Louis!!’

Louis is also Denise Welch’s youngest son and the younger brother to 1975 frontman Matty Healy.

His Emmerdale character Danny was introduced as a potential love interest for Sarah Sugden back in 2019, and made his first appearance in the ITV soap in September of that very year.

Sarah started talking to the young lad online, but it soon became apparent that he was trouble.

Sarah complied with Danny’s request and began selling drugs for him.

However, she soon learned from one of the young man’s friends that Danny simply got the injuries after he fell off his bike, meaning that he’d simply manipulated her into doing what he wanted.

Feeling betrayed, Sarah planted drugs on Danny and reported him to the police.

Afterwards, he is sent to prison.
