EastEnders’ Sharon and Phil make decision about their future following passionate kiss

It looked like one of Walford’s most iconic couples were back on after Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) shared a kiss in Tuesday’s (18 June) EastEnders. 

However, those hoping for a full-blown reunion might have to wait a little while yet, after the pair made a decision about their future on Wednesday. 

The former husband and wife locked lips after Sharon revealed the truth to her ex about Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) murder, as he vowed to protect her. 

Despite admitting they were soulmates, the following day in the market, it seemed as if Sharon was regretting the kiss, dodging Phil’s questions about what it meant. 

Later on, Phil and Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) took steps to stop Callum Highway (Tony Clay) digging deeper into the case of Keanu’s murder.

As they came together in the Vic with killer Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and her son Johnny (Charlie Suff), Sharon was forced to confront their liaison. 

‘I’m grateful that you’re here for me,’ Sharon said. ‘And I can’t pretend I didn’t want that kiss. But I don’t want to give you false hope. 

‘Anything more than friendship is too much for me and Albie right now.’

A dejected-looking Phil agreed that their son had to ‘be their priority’, and asked to spend more time with the youngster. 

But as Sharon – whose marriage to Phil originally ended following her affair with Keanu – admitted ‘she would like that’, a lingering look told us that it might not yet be the end of the road for the former couple…
