Yolande Trueman’s (Angela Wynter) hopes of bringing abuser Pastor Clayton (Howard Saddler) to justice in EastEnders were dealt a blow when police confirmed they didn’t have enough evidence to pursue a case against him.

However, she is set to be given a glimmer of hope in Tuesday’s (June 25) iPlayer episode, when she receives an unexpected visit.

After going missing in recent weeks, Yolande and husband Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) are left stunned when Levi (Mark Akintimehin) returns to Albert Square with some news that could change everything.

Fellow church-goer Levi was one of the few people who Yolande told of her sexual assault by Pastor Clayton, and he vowed to help and protect her.

Her confidante has been absent from Walford in recent weeks though, with Yolande confused to learn of his sudden departure from her family when she and Patrick recently returned home from holiday.

But what information has brought Levi back? And could it help the Pastor face justice once and for all?

A special episode that aired earlier this year revealed that the Pastor had previously attacked a number of other women at previous parishes – has one of them also come forward?

During Monday’s iPlayer episode, the police told Yolande they had insufficient evidence to charge the Pastor, following his arrest last week.

In harrowing scenes, viewers also saw the Pastor torment Yolande over her reporting him to the police, telling her she was ‘confused and disturbed’, and that he and god ‘forgive her’.

EastEnders airs these latest scenes on BBC iPlayer from 6am on Tuesday, and on Wednesday at 7.30pm on BBC Two.
