There was a baby bombshell for Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) in EastEnders last week, as she learned she was pregnant with her and boyfriend Bobby Beale’s (Clay Milner Russell) child.

But having found out Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) reciprocates her growing feelings for him, Anna has a big decision to make about her future next week, as she contemplates having an abortion.

As the week begins, Anna prepares to tell Bobby about her pregnancy, but when her sister Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) later catches her dodging his calls, Anna admits she’s not ready to have a baby and wants an abortion.

Anna later hangs out with Freddie and Bobby, and Freddie inadvertently discovers clinic details on Anna’s laptop and promises to keep her secret, but urges her to tell Bobby.

The truth later dawns on Bobby during a shift at Beale’s Eels, when Lauren Branning (Jacquline Jossa) suggests to him that Anna might be pregnant considering her recent health issues, and he plans to confront his girlfriend.

Meanwhile, at the clinic, Anna talks through her options and when she decides to have an abortion, she’s touched to find Freddie in the waiting room.

He takes her back to The Vic, and they an emotional moment, leading to a kiss – but are unaware that Bobby has walked in.

A heated confrontation ensues, as a shattered Bobby is restrained by Martin Fowler (James Bye) as he accuses Freddie of getting Anna pregnant.

When Bobby and Anna’s argument spills over to the Beale house, it’s not long before all hell breaks loose…

Actor Clay Milner Russell says his character is ‘really shocked and deeply hurt’, explaining: ‘He feels stupid for not seeing this coming and assumes the worst and that Freddie and Anna have been carrying on behind his back for months.

‘He’s really angry with them and feels stupid and embarrassed that this has happened to him again.’

With Bobby set to depart Walford in the coming weeks, the fallout is sure to have huge consequences for the warring Beale and Knight families.

EastEnders airs these scenes from Monday 16 September at 7.30pm on BBC One and from 6am on iPlayer.
