Dua Lipa has been forced to cancel a show in Jakarta, Indonesia after a series of ‘unforeseen safety issues’ were found with the stage.

The Levitating singer, 29, was expected to appear at the Indonesia Arena on Saturday evening as part of her ongoing Radical Optimism tour, named after her studio album of the same name.

Her tour got underway on November 5 in Singapore and will run for 68 shows until late next year.

Concluding in Seattle on October 16, 2025, Dua will appear at venues in Japan, Australia, Canada and the United States – among others around the world – along the way.

The 2024 Glastonbury headliner was scheduled to play in Indonesia’s capital city this weekend – however, the Dance the Night songstress has cancelled the scheduled performance, citing concerns over the show’s staging.

‘I am here in your amazing country and ready to perform, but I am gutted to share that it has been determined that it is not safe for the performance to carry on due to issues with the staging,’ the star wrote on social media.

In a post shared to her Instagram Story, Dua continued: ‘I was so looking forward to this night, and it truly pains me that we cannot perform for you all, especially after such a long time since my last performance in Jakarta.’

She added: ‘I love you all and truly can’t wait to be back together in the same room with you singing and dancing our hearts out as soon as possible.’

In a joint statement issued to her website, organisers TEM Presents and PK Entertainment said that the cancellation was ‘due to unforeseen safety and logistical issues.’

The statement read: ‘Despite Dua Lipa’s readiness to perform and the whole team’s diligent efforts to resolve critical production issues related to the stage structure provided by Mata Elang Productions, it is not safe for the performance to carry on.

‘This very difficult decision to cancel was made with the utmost care and consideration for the safety of both the audiences and artist.

‘TEM Presents and PK Entertainment sincerely apologise to all fans who were looking forward to the show for any inconvenience caused by this cancellation.’

Earlier this year, 100,000 people packed into the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury to watch the star perform a run of 15 songs, including hits Training Season, One Kiss, Illusion, Break My Heart and Levitating.

‘It’s a lot, innit? A lot to take in,’ she told the crowd at the time. ‘Little me would be beside herself right now.’

She followed this up by announcing her biggest concert to date, performing at the Wembley Stadium in June 2025 as part of …read more
