Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) gets a life-changing update in Coronation Street next week, as doctors finally give her some good news about son Frankie.

Her infant son has been in hospital since he was born prematurely earlier this year, after evil Joel Deering (Calum Lill) gave her abortion-inducing drugs amid a plot to get rid of Lauren for good.

Since his birth, Frankie’s had several health issues, and left Lauren fearing the worst last month when he suffered a seizure.

Luckily, he managed to pull through and in scenes to air next week,  a doctor informs Lauren and and her friend Max Turner (Paddy Bever) that Frankie’s doing well enough to be discharged next month.

As Lauren looks to a future of having her son with her full-time, Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) promises that he and Max will be around to help her.

Meanwhile, Bobby admits to Max that he is still harbouring feelings for Lauren and is longing to be with her.

However, it’s not all good news for Lauren next week, as after Joel’s body is recovered from a nearby river and the police begin a murder investigation.

When Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) drops by the hospital, he tells Lauren that the post-mortem revealed that Joel was dead before he entered the river, meaning he was killed.

Is Lauren about to become a murder suspect?

Coronation Street airs these scenes from Monday 14 October at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
