Andy Murray will play mixed doubles with Emma Raducanu at Wimbledon 2024, the All England Club have confirmed.

Murray is not featuring in the men’s singles after he failed to recover in time from surgery on a spinal cyst – pulling out of Tuesday’s match against Tomas Machac – a huge blow to the fans who wanted to see him one last time before retirement.

The 37-year-old British hero, a two-time Wimbledon champion, is still due to play in the men’s doubles, though, alongside his brother Jamie Murray.

The Murray brothers face John Peers and Rinky Hijikata on either Thursday or Friday in what could be one of the former world No.1’s last-ever matches in SW19.

Fans will now get a second chance to give Murray a send-off at this year’s Championships, though, with the three-time major winner signing up for mixed doubles with fellow British star Raducanu.

The mixed doubles competition gets underway on Friday, July 5 at the All England Club.
