Festival season is here!

This weekend, the masses will descend on Worthy Farm for Glastonbury, the highlight of the festival calendar.

It’s set to be another scorcher, as the likes of Coldplay and Shania Twain prepare to headline the world-famous Pyramid Stage.

But whether you’re a veteran Glastonbury go-er or a first-timer, there are some festival essentials that need to go in your rucksack which could seriously elevate your weekend.

And no, we don’t mean booze, sun cream and your favourite sequin crop-top.

These are the little known must-haves that will mean you’re a happy camper all weekend.

Suction hook

This may seem rogue, but you can thank us later. We’ve all got a horror story involving a portable toilet – the tale of Leeds Festival’s poo girl is etched into every Millennial’s memory forever.

You can buy hooks fairly cheaply online – although we reckon you pay for what you get, and it might be worth stretching to the slightly more expensive £9.99 suction hooks from B&Q, that promise to hold up to 3kg in weight.

Hydration sachets

From the booze to the sunshine to the questionable dance moves, by the end of the day, you’re likely heading back to your tent feeling like a shriveled raisin.

But dehydration can actually have some pretty serious consequences: from UTIs to constipation and brain fog.

That’s where hydration sachets come in. Liquid I.V. Hydration Multiplier Electrolyte Powder sachets cost just £6 for six sachets, and are quick and easy to pop in your water bottle and top up your electrolytes and essential vitamins.

Plastic bags

There’s not a lot of space in a tent, and if you’ve packed all your stuff in a rucksack, it’s pretty hard to see what clothes you’ve actually got with you to wear.

That’s where sandwich bags come in. As you’re packing, put each outfit – down to the underwear – into separate sandwich bags. You could even label them with the days on …read more
