Nearly 20 years later, they reconnected in 2021 and tied the knot in 2022. Unfortunately, rumors suggest the couple’s dissimilarities are wearing on their marriage. Here’s what an insider said regarding why Affleck and Lopez haven’t announced their imminent divorce.

According to numerous sources, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have hit a rough patch in their marriage that will likely result in divorce. It seems the couple can’t get on the same page about how they hope to live. Lopez loves the spotlight, but Affleck hates the media attention. Additionally, Affleck and Lopez have trouble communicating and no longer live together.
Divorce rumors have swirled around the couple since mid-2024. As of June 2024, they haven’t yet announced divorce proceedings. A source told DailyMail.com that Affleck and Lopez were waiting until their kids were finished school for the year so the announcement would be less disruptive to them.
“I think they have wanted to wait until all the kids are out of school and done with school plans and all that before they make their big announcement,” the insider said. “They are putting the kids first.”
Affleck has three children with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner: Violet Anne, 18, Seraphina Rose, 15, and Samuel, 12. Lopez has twins with her ex-husband, Marc Anthony: Max and Emme, 16.
The insider added that while Affleck is a “great father,” he can be “grumpy and a downer,” which might affect his marriage. “He chain smokes and cusses and seems irritated a lot of the time,” they said. “Great director and actor, but not a lot of laughs with him, you know? He is a wonderful father, though.’
