Ever since his Buckingham Palace balcony debut at Trooping the Colour in 2019 when he nearly stole the show with his “mad face,” fans wanted to see more of Prince Louis.
Then in 2022, he made another appearance on the balcony during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations and that time went viral with his adorable antics including casually chatting with Queen Elizabeth II and yelling while covering his ears during a flyover.
Prince William and the Princess of Wales’ (formerly known as Kate Middleton) youngest son has given us plenty of memes with his funny faces and laughs as he’s shown off his big personality for the camera several times.
However, there was one moment when cameras captured Prince Louis not wanting to be filmed at all. Here’s how the little prince reacted to avoid being seen.
Prince Louis tries to hide after coronation rehearsals
The video footage posted on TikTok is from King Charles’ coronation rehearsals which took place in May 2023. It shows the royals in the back of cars leaving Westminster Abbey. As a vehicle carrying Prince William and Prince Louis rolls by Louis has his upper body turned completely away from the cameras so they can’t film him. The text over the 16-second clip has an arrow pointing at the youngster with the words: “Louis hiding his face from paparazzi.”
The video has been viewed thousands of times with over 1,300 likes and dozens of comments with most agreeing that the royal children should have some privacy.
“They deserve so much privacy. They’re still people,” one person posted with a broken heart emoji, while another added: “They need privacy.”
Another user echoed those thoughts writing in all caps: “THEY NEED MORE PRIVACY, IT’S OK THAT THEY’RE FAMOUS, BUT THEY’RE PEOPLE TOO.”
Another chimed in about how royals are treated in other parts of the world sharing: “They need their privacy. We Saudis give our rulers their personal space and privacy.”

Although he didn’t want to be filmed after rehearsals, Louis delighted fans on the balcony following the coronation ceremony happily waving to crowds below, making silly faces, and grinning from ear to ear. And during the ceremony, many royal watchers pointed out how well-behaved he was, sitting quietly through much of the service.
