Forger tries to cash $30.6k check on Saratoga residents’ account

Petty theft: Between 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 25 and 4 p.m. on Aug. 26, someone stole the rear license plate from a vehicle belonging to a Saratoga resident for a loss of about $50.

Residential burglary: At 12:04 p.m., four suspects entered a residence in the 14000 block of Ten Acres Court by breaking a rear sliding glass door and stole a camera and jewelry for a loss valued at approximately $8,400.

Aug. 30

Check fraud, forgery: On Aug. 30, Saratoga residents said someone forged and attempted to cash a fraudulent check for about $30,596. Their bank declined the transaction, and no financial loss was reported.
