Guillermo Renderos has also been charged with corporal injury to a spouse, child endangerment, kidnapping and enhancements for use of a deadly weapon and great bodily injury, the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement Thursday.

A criminal complaint alleges Renderos forced his wife and baby into his truck on Oct. 17, pulled them out and began to beat his wife while she held their baby, according to prosecutors.

At one point, Renderos pulled out a “sharp object” and used it to stab his wife several times, the district attorney’s office said.

If convicted of the charges, Renderos faces 14 years and 5 months to life in prison.

Renderos remains in custody at the Santa Rita Jail on $800,000 bail. His pre-trial hearing is scheduled to take place Nov. 12 at the Wiley W. Manuel Courthouse in Oakland.
