A man was shot to death in downtown San Jose early Sunday morning, marking the city’s 26th homicide this year, according to police.
At approximately 2:38 AM, officers responded to a report of a person shot on the 100 block of South Second Street in a parking lot, where they found the victim with at least one gunshot wound. Despite emergency response efforts from officers and medical personnel, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The motive and circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation, police said.
The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office have not yet released the man’s identity.
