BAY POINT — Contra Costa Fire Protection District and Cal Fire crews fought a vegetation fire Wednesday afternoon that broke out near state Highway 4, officials said.

The blaze had grown to three alarms after breaking out about 1:35 p.m. and was 15 acres, according to a social media post by Cal Fire.
According to officials, the fire was on a hillside near Willow Pass Road at Avila Road. Smoke could be seen from the highway and areas of the city.
