A mother allegedly used a 20-pound kettlebell weight to kill her five-year-old son and then left a chilling voicemail to his father.
‘Please don’t freak out,’ Cedar Mae Sarten, 43, said in one of three message, according to police.
‘We don’t have a son no more.’
Sarten told the father, Robert Gagner, ‘Robert this is really bad you seriously need to come over here right now,’ stated a criminal complaint obtained by Law&Crime on Tuesday.

The mother called the cops on the morning of October 14 and ‘stated that someone had harmed her son and that he was definitely dead’, according to the Fairbanks Police Department.
Sarten claimed that she last saw her son alive when he was falling asleep around 1am or 2am and that her 911 calls the prior night did not go through.
When officers and first responders arrived at her apartment in Alaska, they ‘immediately observed her to have multiple lacerations to her wrists/forearms, neck, and head’, stated the police department. They appeared to be self-inflicted life-threatening wounds, and she was taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital.
Inside the 10th Avenue apartment, officers discovered Sarten’s son lifeless on a bed.

‘Adjacent to the bed was a 20-pound kettlebell-style weight with what appeared to be blood on it,’ stated the police department.
Officers also found a knife on the bed and another on the floor, and ‘a significant amount of blood’ around the apartment.
The boy’s preliminary autopsy report indicated that he died of blunt force trauma to his head, and he had several slash marks.
Sarten has been charged with first-degree murder and is under medical treatment.
‘I’m very proud of the thorough work that was done to ensure that we have a strong case and can hopefully provide some measure of justice for the victim’s family,’ stated police Chief Ron Dupee.
A GoFundMe page identified her son as Bodhi (Robert) Gagner-Sarten.
‘He was the sweetest most kind hearted, loving little boy who wanted nothing more than to play and just be a kid,’ stated the page. ‘He always had the biggest smile on his face and could talk up a storm.’
It stated that the child’s father and her fiancé ‘are absolutely and unimaginably devastated’.
The page had raised more than $7,570 as of Thursday night.
Anyone with information on the crime is urged to contact the police department.
