CONCORD — For the second time in three days, a police response to reports of a gun near school campuses ended with officers making at least one arrest.

In a statement, Concord police Lt. Robert Garcia said an officer responded Wednesday after police received reports of a suspicious gray sedan with occupants reportedly brandishing a gun near Ygnacio Valley High and Oak Grove Middle schools.
The officer found the vehicle in the high school parking lot, and conducted a high-risk traffic stop, Garcia said. In high-risk stops, officers draw their guns and demand the occupants exit the vehicle.
Police locked down the high school and secured the scene before arresting more than one person for what Garcia called “alcohol-related crimes.” He did not specify what crimes were committed.
Police did not recover a gun. Garcia said they are still investigating.
Garcia did not say how many people police arrested but added that they were not students at the high school.
Police said additional patrol officers will monitor Thursday the area where the schools are located.
On Monday, police arrested a middle school student on suspicion of reporting a false emergency after they received reports of a gun on a school campus. Police searched Oak Grove Middle School and locked it down and also searched and maintained a presence at Cambridge Elementary School. They did not find a gun.
