The M65 motorway has been blocked since the early hours of the morning after a serious crash involving multiple vehicles.
The motorway is blocked eastbound between junctions 8 for Huncoat and 10 for Burnley.
Lancashire Police have been on scene since the collision at around 3.30am on Monday.
An official diversion route is in place. There are currently no delays on approach, but this could all change as rush hour approaches.
In other travel news this morning, there are severe delays on the Jubilee line of the London Underground this morning due to a shortage of trains.
The Waterloo & City line is also currently suspended after a signal failure at London Waterloo.
And trains are back up and running between Shrewsbury and Machynlleth following a train crash in which a passenger died on October 21.
