Gogglebox fans have declared ‘never has there been better casting’ after Miriam Margolyes was added to the line-up.
Each season the Channel 4 series enlists a group of celebrities to deliver their verdict on the week’s TV for a Stand Up to Cancer Special.
The charity campaign with Cancer Research UK sees them raise funds and awareness, with this year’s special to hit screens tonight.
Pairings this time around include Josh Widdicombe and Stephen Merchant, David Baddiel and Frank Skinner and Dame Kristin Scott Thomas and Saskia Reeves.
However, it is the final pairing that viewers have said they cannot wait to see – Miriam Margolyes and Lesley Joseph.
The actresses have been friends for decades and will likely have viewers in stitches when they dish out their opinions.

When their casting was announced, fans were ecstatic.
‘Never has there been better casting! What a dream!’ Jak posted on X.
‘OMG this is AMAZING I love Miriam so much,’ Kerry shared.

Meanwhile Toni said it was ‘the best pairing ever’.
Others joked the ‘bleep machine will be in overdrive’ in anticipation of Miriam’s swearing.

Speaking ahead of the episode airing, Miriam said: ‘When they asked me to do Gogglebox for Stand Up to Cancer, I thought, ‘Well, if I can watch television AND raise money for a wonderful cause, count me in!
‘What could be better than that – and doing it with my brilliant old friend of nearly 40 years, Lesley Joseph? She’s wise and funny and knows everyone, a perfect partner in crime.
‘Also, Stand Up to Cancer does vital work, and if we two old birds can help towards that – just show me the sofa, I’m all for it.’
Lesley added that she couldn’t wait to see and watch some TV with Miriam, who she was ‘sure would have plenty of outrageous things to say.
‘So, I’ll be there trying to keep her in line – no easy task, mind you!’ she added.
The Celebrity Gogglebox Stand Up to Cancer Special airs tonight at 9pm on Channel 4.
