In a soap crossover we absolutely didn’t expect, Coronation Street’s Gareth Pierce has posted some brilliant snaps with EastEnders’ Matt Di Angelo.
Gareth has played the role of Todd Grimshaw in the ITV soap since 2020. Initially back on the cobbles as a complete troublemaker, Todd has somewhat mellowed in recent years.
He has been involved in the powerful and emotional storyline involving Paul Foreman (Peter Ash), who was diagnosed with motor neurone disease last year.
Within this, we also saw Todd become interested in Paul’s carer Moses (Michael Fatogun), but this sadly never developed into a romance storyline for him, as Moses left Weatherfield for London.
Away from filming as Todd, Gareth recently enjoyed a trip to London with his good mate Matt Di Angelo, of course best known for playing Dean Wicks in EastEnders.

Sharing a variety of snaps from the trip, Gareth and Matt can be seen in two of the pictures smiling and laughing.
Captioning the post, Gareth wrote: ‘Todd Grimshaw & Dean Wicks in the Big City. Lots of laughter with the main man @mattdiangelo Tacos & pink gin in a church @mercatometropolitano & a trip to see Steve Coogan in @drstrangelovehq.’
Matt’s time in EastEnders as Dean Wicks came to an end again in September. Dean was wrongly arrested for the murder of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) after The Six managed to successfully frame him.
In the final week of his episodes, we saw his murder trial fall apart after he finally admitted to raping Linda, throwing her false testimony that she’d seen him dragging Keanu’s body into the café on Christmas night into doubt.

As well as the revelation that the character is now behind bars, a post on EastEnders’ official Instagram account later confirmed his last scenes have now aired.
‘Farewell to the marvellous Matt Di Angelo AKA devious Dean Wicks. From all the cast and crew at EastEnders… thank you, you’ll be missed!’ the post read.
It was accompanied by a video of Matt’s last day of filming, in which the cast and crew bid him farewell.
