New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft was devastated when his wife of 48 years, Myra Hyatt Kraft, died in 2011 at age 68. Kraft said that he felt “robbed” and went into a deep depression.
But 11 years after his first wife’s death, Kraft married again, this time to Dana Blumberg, who he had reportedly been dating since 2017. Here’s what you need to know about the 84-year-old Patriots owner’s second wife, who was most recently seen in public with him on the red carpet at the lavish Fanatics pre-Super Bowl party on Saturday, February 7.

Blumberg Is a Columbia University Ophthalmologist
Kraft’s wife is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in treatment of glaucoma — a disease of the eye that is the most common cause of adult blindness. She is also, according to her professional biography, an associate professor of ophthalmology at Columbia University in New York and has been an adjunct associate professor at Weill Cornell Medical College.
She received her medical degree at St. Louis University and attended Brown University, an Ivy League school in Rhode Island, as an undergraduate.
Kraft and Blumberg Reportedly Met in 2017
Blumberg has attempted to mostly keep a low profile, and initially the couple remained low-key about their relationship. But in 2022, Kraft’s friend, former Philadelphia 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin, revealed on his Instagram account that Blumberg and Kraft had their first date at Olde Heritage Tavern in Lenox, a small town in western Massachusetts’ Berkshire County.
They were also photographed together for the first time in public in 2017, at a benefit event for pop star Elton John’s AIDS Foundation. In 2019, they were again seen as a couple attending the French Open tennis tournament and later appeared at several other events over the summer, according to a People report.

There’s a 33-year Age Difference Between Kraft and Blumberg
Less than two years after the passing of his first wife in 2011, Kraft began dating an actress named Ricki Noel Lander, who at the time was described by the Boston Globe as a “32-year-old dancer and actress,” adding, “some of those close to Kraft credit Lander with helping to pull him out of a deep depression brought on by his wife’s death.”
Kraft would have turned 72 in 2013.
While the details are not clear as to how and why Kraft and Lander broke up, People in 2018 reported that Lander gave birth to a baby, and that Kraft, though still reportedly together with the actress, denied being the father.
But it is now clear that Kraft and Blumberg had already started their relationship by that time. While Blumberg has managed to keep her exact age and birthday mostly out of public view, her beau blew the whistle when he threw her a surprise 50th birthday party in January 2024.
That would put Blumberg’s date of birth in January 1974, making her just under 33 years younger than Kraft, who was born on June 5, 1941.
The Couple Surprised Friends With Their Wedding
On October 14, 2022, Kraft invited a number of friends, including Tom Brady and numerous other former Patriots players, to a party at Hall des Lumières in lower Manhattan, New York City.
When the lavish bash, with performances by Elton John, Ed Sheeran and Meek Mill — according to the New York Post Page Six — got underway, Kraft and Blumberg revealed that the party was in fact their wedding, or at least a wedding reception. John introduced the couple as “husband and wife,” suggesting they had already tied the knot before their arrival at the party.
She Sits on the Board of the Kennedy Center
In February last year, Blumberg accepted an appointment to the board of trustees for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, shortly after President Donald Trump effectively appointed himself to chair the board. Trump’s self-appointment was approved by a vote of the board.
While it is unclear whether Blumberg was seated on the board when the vote to name Trump chair was held, she was a member in December when the board voted unanimously to rename the center after Trump, with the full name The Donald J. Trump and The John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts.
While outside of accepting the appointment from Trump, Blumberg has kept her political preferences and affiliations to herself. But Kraft has been a longtime friend and supporter of Trump, and the two were most recently seen together on January 29 at the Kennedy Center premiere of the documentary film Melania.
