Giants, NFL Receive Clear Message From President Donald Trump Amid HC Search

When the Baltimore Ravens decided to part ways with John Harbaugh, NFL fans across the country were taken aback by the news.

Even the President of the United States couldn’t believe his ears.

President Donald Trump, who is a self-proclaimed football fan, says that Harbaugh needs to be hired now and is a real “winner.”

“HIRE JOHN HARBAUGH, FAST. HE, AND HIS BROTHER, ARE TOTAL WINNERS!!! President DJT,” wrote Trump on his social media website Truth Social.

You heard the President, New York Giants decision makers. Hire the man!

It seems Harbaugh and the President have a relationship, and President Trump took it upon himself to endorse the recently fired head coach as he begins the search for his next job.

President Trump’s Relationship with the Harbaughs

Over the summer at Baltimore Ravens training camp, Harbaugh spoke with the media about visiting President Trump at the White House with his brother, Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh, their parents, and children.

“It was amazing. It was awesome. And I promise you, I root for our president, you know. I want our president to be successful just like I want my quarterback to be successful. And I want my team to be successful,” Harbaugh told reporters.

“And it was an amazing experience. You know, it’s not often you get invited and you get a chance to do something like that as a family. You know, we were there. My daughter was there. Jim’s daughters were there. My mom and dad were there. My mom and President Trump, you know, just seeing how he treated her was really meaningful, you know.”

It seems like the Harbaugh family thoroughly enjoyed their White House visit, and it wasn’t the first time that John and Jim had met with a President of the United States.

“Now, Jim met seven. Jim has met seven presidents. So he’s got the lead on me…He’s got seven. I got four. So I had a chance to meet President Obama twice. Incredible experience. Had a chance to meet President Biden when he was vice president in Iraq.”

“And then, you know, 24, 25 years old, Jim got invited also to the White House to meet President Reagan because he was a Heisman Trophy candidate. And we got to go as a family, so I met President Reagan, have a picture in my office of that. So those are moments that I definitely cherish, and it means a lot.”

An NFL Team Will Take the President’s Advice

President Trump’s message to NFL teams was “hire John Harbaugh, fast,” and there’s a team out there that will do it, executive order or not.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, as soon as it was announced that the Baltimore Ravens parted ways with Harbaugh, he became the “top head coaching candidate in this cycle.”

John Harbaugh now is expected to become the top head-coaching candidate in this hiring cycle, per multiple league sources. Multiple teams now are expected to be interested in hiring him, and his presence is expected to have big ramifications.

And for the New York Giants, he immediately became the favorite to land the job.

Only one team is going to be able to hire Harbaugh as their next head coach, and if the New York Giants want to land their ideal candidate, they need to pull out all the stops to prove they’re the best job for the Super Bowl-winning head coach to take.
