CPS teacher reported missing in Bronzeville

A special education teacher remained missing Tuesday after she was last seen in Bronzeville over the weekend, police say.

Linda Brown, 53, a teacher at Robert Healy Elementary School, was last seen Saturday in the 4500 block of South Martin Luther King Drive, Chicago police said.

Brown’s husband, Antwon Brown, told ABC7 he last saw his wife on Friday night. The couple watched a movie at their Bronzeville home and then went to bed.

“Everything was fine. Next morning I woke up, it was like 8:35 a.m., and she was gone. No sign of her. I thought she went to acupuncture because she goes to acupuncture on Saturdays,” he said. However, Brown never showed up for her appointment.

Police said Brown may be driving a blue Honda Civic with license plate number CX57470 and be near the 2200 block of West North Avenue.

She also may be in need of medical attention, police said.

Erin Kamradt, principal at Healy Elementary, said Monday that CPS Crisis Management Unit will be available at the school to support students and staff members.

“I know that news like this can cause many emotions, questions, and concerns for our school community,” Kamradt said in a statement.

In a police missing persons alert, Brown was described as being white with a fair complexion, brown hair and eyes, standing about 5-feet tall and weighing about 130 pounds.
