The Daily News girls basketball Top 15 rankings for January 5, 2026:
1. Sierra Canyon (13-1): The Trailblazers begin Mission League play this week with games against Chaminade and Louisville. Sierra Canyon senior and 2025 Daily News Player of the Year Jerzy Robinson committed to play at South Carolina on Dec. 23.
2. Oak Park (10-5, 1-0): UC Santa Barbara commit Karisma Lewis is averaging 16.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. The Eagles play a Coastal Canyon League game this week against Royal and also a tough nonleague matchup against Redondo Union on Saturday.
3. Valencia (13-3, 3-0): Sophomore guard Kamilla Basyrova continued her strong season as she averaged 20.3 points and 9.7 rebounds per game during the West Coast Jamboree tournament at the end of December. Valencia resumes Foothill League play this week with games against West Ranch and Canyon.
4. Harvard-Westlake (8-6): The Wolverines have won seven straight. They begin Mission League play this week with games on the road against Marlborough and Notre Dame. Freshman Lucia Khamenia had 24 points in a win over Desert Vista on Saturday.
5. Thousand Oaks (16-2): The Lancers begin Marmonte League play this week with games against Calabasas and Oaks Christian. Junior Aryanna Lopez scored her 1000th career point in a win over St. Bonaventure on December 29.
6. Campbell Hall (10-2): Campbell Hall went 3-0 in the SoCal Holiday Prep Classic, including a 49-37 win over Village Christian. Charlotte Crosley and Romy D’Addario are both averaging over 15 points per game to lead the way.
7. Notre Dame (11-6): Sophomore forward MaZiya Randolph has been one of the better players in the area this season. She is averaging 17.2 points and 13.5 rebounds per game. Notre Dame will take on Louisville and Harvard-Westlake in Mission League action this week.
8. Village Christian (11-6): The Crusaders will take on rival Heritage Christian on Tuesday to open Olympic League play. They are looking to win their fifth straight Olympic League title.
9. Oaks Christian (10-5): The Lions are looking to bounce back from a three-game losing streak. They have Marmonte League games this week against Newbury Park and Thousand Oaks.
10. Saugus (11-5, 3-1): The Centurions had good nonleague wins over Birmingham and Granada Hills last week. They will play Hart and Golden Valley in Foothill League action this week.
11. Birmingham (13-3): The Patriots went 3-1 in the Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas two weeks ago. They will begin West Valley League play next week with games against Taft and Chatsworth.
12. Alemany (11-8): The Warriors have won three straight, including a 53-49 win over Granada Hills on Saturday. Freshman guard Kyla Lea has been outstanding, averaging 28.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game.
13. Granada Hills Charter (12-6): The Highlanders won the Gold Division of the Trinity Classical Academy Tournament at the end of December.
14. Canyon (9-9, 2-1): The Cowboys have played one of the toughest schedules in the area. Canyon will play another tough game this week when it takes on Valencia in Foothill League play Friday.
15. Viewpoint (12-1): The Patriots, who have won 10 straight, will have a big step up in competition this week when they begin Gold Coast League play.
