Heat Trade Proposal Sees Them Go All-In for Two All-Stars

The Miami Heat have tried to reinvent themselves after trading away Jimmy Butler last season. Butler was traded to the Golden State Warriors last season after an ugly stalemate between Butler and upper management.

This season, the Heat have turned into a much more dangerous offensive team. Still, they are a very average team at the moment. Miami sits eighth in the Eastern Conference standings. If they want to make the playoffs this season, they need to have more consistency.

The Heat have the 18th-best offense in the NBA. With that being the case, Bleacher Report has a trade proposal that would see the team go all-in for a couple of All-Star players at the end of their careers in Kawhi Leonard and James Harden.

Heat Trade Proposal Sees Them Add James Harden and Kawhi Leonard

Here is the full trade proposal:

Miami Heat receive: Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, and Chris Paul

Los Angeles Clippers receive: Tyler Herro, Andrew Wiggins, Kasparas Jakučionis, Terry Rozier, 2030 first-round pick, and 2032 first-round pick

Adding those two All-Star players would be a massive gamble for Miami. Leonard is someone who has struggled with injuries over the last few years. His availability is a massive question mark over the last few years. He simply can’t be counted on, especially when the playoffs come around.

The hope is that Leonard would be able to stay healthy enough to be a primetime playoff performer, which is something he has done in the past. Harden has been the best player on the Clippers this season, showing the ability to carry the offense.

In any trade the Heat make this season, they will try everything they can to hold onto Tyler Herro. Herro is the best asset that the Heat has. Trading two first-round picks would likely be a bit much to trade in return for two aging superstars at the end of their careers.

The Heat Could Make a Massive Trade at the Trade Deadline

Even if Miami doesn’t make a trade for Leonard and Harden, it still could make a massive trade. They would certainly be interested in a trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo if he became available. He is still in the prime of his career, and he is a top-five player.

Pat Riley is not afraid to make big moves if he is convinced that they will make the team better. Riley needs to believe those moves bring them closer to a title, though. Adding a superstar player is not out of the question for Miami at the trade deadline.

If the Heat do make a move at the deadline, it could be the last run that Miami tries to make before entering into a full rebuild. They don’t have many young assets, so that could be why going all-in could end up turning into a rebuild if things don’t go well.

The Heat will still have a shot to make the playoffs with their current roster.
