Bears injury report: WR Luther Burden to play Sunday

Bears wide receiver Luther Burden will play Sunday against the 49ers.

Burden sprained his ankle against the Browns and didn’t play against the Packers but returned to practice this week. He was a full participant for the first time Friday.

He looks like Burden,” coach Ben Johnson said.

The Bears ruled out receiver Rome Odunze, who is still dealing with a chronic foot issue.

At various points this week, the Bears have held out cornerbacks Josh Blackwell and Nick McCloud, receiver Devin Duvernay and linebacker D’Marco Jackson because of illness. They ruled McCloud out Friday. Cornerback Nahshon Wright, who is sick and has a hamstring issue, is questionable. So is cornerback C.J. Gardner-Johnson, who hurt his knee Saturday but practiced in full Friday.

Linebacker T.J. Edwards is questionable with a glute injury after returning to practice Friday. Backup guard Luke Newman (foot) is questionable as he tries to work his way off injured reserve.

Johnson said the Bears were working through the illnesses.

“It’s this time of year — I doubt we’re the only team dealing with it,” Johnson said. “We’re washing our hands, we’re being very diligent. Guys have masks on. You do what you can. Whoever’s available here on gameday, we’ll look to win with. If a guy can’t go, we’ll be ready.”
