The Los Angeles Chargers are officially playoff-bound, with the team winning four straight games while also putting pressure on Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos for the AFC West division crown.
Even though the Chargers will be in the playoffs regardless of what happens in the final two games of the 2025 NFL regular season, Los Angeles will want to make their path in the postseason as easy as possible, and they can do that with the division title.
Fortunately for Justin Herbert and the team, they control their own fate in the final two games. Two wins will result in Los Angeles winning the AFC West division title with no help needed, making the next two matchups against the Houston Texans and Broncos crucial.
NFL Upholds 2-Game Suspension for Chargers’ Denzel Perryman

Unfortunately for the Chargers, the team will be without veteran linebacker Denzel Perryman for the next two games, as his two-game suspension has been upheld by the league, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Perryman was suspended due to a late hit on Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Ryan Flournoy during Sunday’s game.
With Perryman being a repeat offender, the league considered that, so the next time he’ll be able to take the field will be in the first game of the playoffs for the Chargers.
The loss of the 33-year-old linebacker may prove costly, with the Chargers going up against formidable opponents in the final two weeks of the regular season.

Once the decision was made to uphold the two-game suspension, a statement was issued by Perryman’s agent, Ron Butler, about the veteran linebacker respecting the process and taking accountability for his actions, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
“Denzel Perryman has been informed of the appeal decision and will serve the two-game suspension as issued,” Butler said. “He respects the process, has taken accountability, and is focused on returning ready to compete and finish the season strong. Denzel appreciates the continued support from his teammates, the Chargers organization, and the fans.”
The Chargers will likely turn to linebackers Troy Dye and Del’Shawn Phillips to help shoulder the load, with Perryman set to miss the final two games of the regular season.
In the 10 games that Perryman has played this season for the Chargers, the veteran linebacker has recorded 30 solo tackles and three passes defended.
As of Christmas Eve, the Chargers are slightly favored (-1.5) against the Texans at home at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. Houston is coming off a matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, where they barely managed to pull off a win against a two-win team.
As for the Chargers, Jim Harbaugh’s squad is coming off a dominant performance against the Cowboys, in which they held Dak Prescott and Dallas’ potent offense in check in the second half, holding scoreless in order to secure the 34-17 win on the road at AT&T Stadium.
