Colts’ Pro Bowl Roster Selections Revealed

The Indianapolis Colts‘ season has been a rollercoaster. While it’s difficult not to focus on the current state of the team, given their hot start and subsequent slide to near elimination, the 2025 season has had many positives. One of which is the team garnering two selections to the 2026 Pro Bowl games.

Nelson and Taylor

GettyIndianapolis Colts guard Quenton Nelson and running back Jonathan Taylor will be appearing in their third Pro Bowl together.

The two are, as expected, running back Jonathan Taylor, who was once a legitimate MVP candidate for the season, and guard Quenton Nelson, who anchored Indy’s offensive line into one of the best units in the NFL for the majority of the season.

This marks Jonathan Taylor’s third Pro Bowl selection as he is currently in the midst of having one of the best seasons of his career. He leads the NFL in rushing touchdowns with 17 and all skill-position players with 19 total scores. According to ESPN, he is second in the league in rushing, collecting 1,489 yards, only 43 behind the current rushing leader, Buffalo Bills running back James Cook. Taylor has been averaging 5.2 yards per carry, the second-highest mark of his career behind his 5.5 average during the 2021 season.

Quenton Nelson’s Pro Bowl selection is a historic one. Nelson became the first player in franchise history to garner Pro Bowl honors in each of his first eight seasons. According to a contributing writer of the Indianapolis Colts, Amanda Foster, Nelson is also “the first Colts player since Peyton Manning to be selected to eight consecutive Pro Bowls. Nelson also is now just the second NFL offensive lineman to be selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his first eight seasons, alongside Joe Thomas.” According to Pro Football Focus, Nelson ranked fourth among all guards this season with an 83.8 offensive grade.

While Pro Bowl nominations are not the ultimate goal, they are still achievements that should be recognized and honored as they celebrate players who represent their organization at a high level.

Honoring Colts Pro Bowl Nods Feel Representative of the Season

Although the Pro Bowl nominations are significant, it is hard for them not to feel a bit like a pity prize to cap off a once revolutionary season. After uncertain expectations to begin the season, the Colts quickly turned into one of the best stories of the year. A 7-1 start led by an outcast quarterback who was regaining his confidence and revitalizing a team that was honoring their late owner and hadn’t won their division in eleven years. Daniel Jones’ quote capitalized that entire tale with a statement for the ages to CBS Sports reporter Evan Washburn, proclaiming, sounds like y’all didn’t know much” following the Colts’ unexpected hot start.

However, that quote now feels like a parody of the current state of the Colts as the season, and the roster was derailed by injuries, leading to a 1-6 game slide. Micah Warren details the entire wave of the Colts’ season well, writing, “Typically, at the end of the season, every NFL team gets their annual yearbook video. A 30-minute recap that makes your team look great even if they were 2-15. Well, the Colts might need an hour for their complete 2026 yearbook.”

Pro Bowl nods are nice, but when looked at as the crowning achievement for a once Super Bowl-caliber team, they remain hollow.

Colts Pro Bowl Roster Comparison to the AFC South

As for the rest of the AFC South Pro Bowl honors, the Texans led with the most player nods with four selections. Those include wide receiver Nico Collins, edge rusher Will Anderson Jr., cornerback Derek Stingley Jr., and linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair. They were followed by the Colts and Titans with two selections each. The Titans players honored are defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons and kick returner Chimere Dike. Then the current AFC South leader Jacksonville Jaguars, have only one selection being long snapper Ross Matiscek.

While the Colts aren’t officially out of the running for the postseason quite yet, it’s encouraging to know that the team will be represented beyond December at the 2026 Pro Bowl Games on Tuesday, February 3.
