Taylor Swift News Surfaces Amid Chiefs-Titans Game

Even though Travis Kelce and Kansas City Chiefs are out of the playoffs, the team is still giving it their all during their game on Sunday, December 21, against the Tennessee Titans. Taylor Swift is a regular at the Chiefs’ home games, but since the Titans game is on the road, she’s not expected to be in attendance at the event.

Still, even with Kelce in the news for his impending retirement decision and the Chiefs getting press for their uncharacteristic fall from the postseason, Swift is making headlines. As the year winds down, it’s obvious that this was a big one for Swift. Not only did she get engaged to Kelce on August 26, but Swift also released her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” which dropped on October 3.

“I wanted melodies that were so infectious that you were almost angry at it and lyrics that are just as vivid, but crisp and focused and completely intentional,” Swift said during her appearance on Kelce and his brother’s “New Heights” podcast in August.

“I wanted to do it at the highest intensity and rapid fire,” she added of her Eras Tour. “When I heard reports of people saying that they got actual amnesia after the concerts, I was like, ‘I think we did it. We nailed it.’”

Taylor Swift Gets Big Year-End News Amid Kanas City Chiefs and Tennessee Titans Game

As the year comes to a close, Swift is getting honored for her historic numbers for “The Life of a Showgirl.” In Billboard magazine’s year-end music review, Gary Trust mentions Swift first as someone who “rewrote the mark for the most No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 among soloists” with 15. He adds that she scored “the honor with the debut of her latest smash LP, ‘The Life of a Showgirl,’ which launched with more than 4 million equivalent album units earned in the United States in its first week, according to data tracker Luminate.”

He adds that the album’s debut “soared past the prior mark of nearly 3.5 million first-week units for Adele’s ’25’ a decade earlier.”

Also in the piece, Trust notes that the album “launched with a record-demolishing 4.002 million equivalent album units earned in its first week, according to Luminate. It vaulted past the likewise lofty 3.482 million collected by Adele’s 25 in 2015.”

Swift also earned her 15th Billboard 200 No. 1 with the new album, which broke a tie with rapper Jay-Z for the most chart-toppers for soloists going back to the chart’s 1956 launch.

“I have 4 million ‘thank you’s I want to send to the fans, and 4 million reasons to feel even more proud of this album than I already was,” Swift stated on social media at the time. “Just wow. Thank you for the lovely bouquet.”

Travis Kelce on Taylor Swift: ‘It’s Like I’ve Known You Forever’

Now that the Chiefs are out of the playoffs, once the regular season wraps up, Kelce and Swift will be firmly focused on planning their new wedding.

As Kelce described on his podcast in August, being with Swift felt natural from the start. “I get you in a room and it’s like I’ve known you forever,” he said on “New Heights.”

Kelce added that talking to Swift in the beginning “was the easiest conversation I ever had, and it was just so much fun that it knocked my socks off.”
