Enchanted Forest of Light is open in Descanso Gardens, filled with glowing magic

Popular installations are back at Enchanted Forest of Light at Descanso Gardens, including an entire town of magical “stained glass” houses by contemporary sculptor Tom Fruin, and sparkling geometric installations from HYBYCOZO — the art and design studio of Serge Beaulieu and Yelena Filipchuk known for creating large-scale, luminous geometric sculptures that blend mathematics, science, nature and technology.

Visitors will also see Flower Power on the Promenade, featuring thousands of electric tulips that create waves of color, and light choreographed to music.

Tickets must be purchased in advance at www.descansogardens.org/enchanted-tickets. The event route through the gardens is about one mile long and takes most visitors roughly one hour to complete.

Descanso Gardens officials say, “While it’s a relatively easy walk, we do recommend comfy, stable shoes.” The route is accessible for strollers, wheelchairs, and mobility assistance devices. Enchanted pathways have well-lit signage, and staff if you need assistance or directions.

Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and warm clothing and Descanso Gardens officials added, “Bring your magic umbrella to ward off any rain.”

Descanso Gardens is closed on Christmas Day.
