“Real Housewives of Miami” star Larsa Pippen and boyfriend Marcus Jordan are setting the record straight about their marriage plans.
The 49-year-old reality personality and 32-year-old former college basketball player officially went public with their romance in January. Ever since, they’ve been the center of scrutiny due of their age gap — and the fact that Pippen’s ex-husband, Scottie Pippen, and Jordan’s father, Michael Jordan, were teammates during the height of the Chicago Bulls’ NBA reign.
Adding to the fervor, the younger Jordan revealed to paparazzi last week that he and Larsa have a wedding date “in the works.”
On the Aug. 22 episode of the couple’s “Separation Anxiety” podcast, Jordan clarified his statement that sent social media into overdrive.
“First topic is ‘Marcus is looking for a wedding venue.’ Obviously, we were at dinner the other night, and paparazzi got us leaving the restaurant and asked us if there are wedding plans in the works,” he explained. ”And I think I responded in a cheeky way. You know I told them we were looking for a location, and that [translates to] it’s in the works.”
Pippen added that she received “a hundred calls and text messages” of people congratulating the pair for taking the next step in their relationship.
“I was like, “I’m so excited! But no, we’re not engaged,’” she said.
However, the mother of four — her eldest is 22-year-old Los Angeles Lakers player Scottie Pippen, Jr. — revealed that her young lover did, indeed, put a ring on it — “a promise ring.”
Jordan shared that while the engagement questions was “tough to answer,” the sentiment is all the same.
“It’s something that we’ve been discussing a lot lately,” he said. “Not necessarily putting a lot of emphasis or priority on where or when, but we’ve definitely been discussing locations and time of year. So you know, I felt like that was a good response.”
